Tumaini Awards 2014

The Fourth Annual Tumaini Awards for 2014 will be held on 13th June 2014. The campaign and the Advocacy plans for 2014 Tumaini Awards Project were launched on 20th March 2014 at the National theater. This years theme is premised on the African Unions selected theme of 2014 Day of the African Children as,\" A Child Friendly, Free, Quality and Compulsory Education for all Children.\"

This Award is aimed at creating awareness on promoting childrens rights as they relate to education by rewarding individuals and corporate organizations who make the greatest impact in this area under the four categories that include; Health in Schools, Quality of Education, Livelihoods and Child Protection. Be sure to be part of this years award giving by nominating an individual or an organization. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the website: www.tumainiawards.com, from Uganda Child Rights NGO network (UCRNN) offices and from the offices of our partner organization.

The Tumaini Awards program was initiated in 2011 and is now established as an annual agenda . The award is promoted by several child focused organizations

The 2013 Tumaini awards gala was  held on 14th June ahead of the day of the African child on 16th June. The purpose of the Gala was to recognize, honour and inspire individuals, companies, organizations and members of the media that have made significant contributions and efforts to improve the lives of children in Uganda.

Individuals, companies, community based, non government organizations and members of the media working to eliminate harmful social and cultural practices against children were recognized and awarded,

The following  winners received certificates, plaques and cash for their outstanding work in advancing the children\'s cause in the areas of livelihood, health, education and protection;
