  • Regional Approach towards developing a Practical Pathway in Tackling Child Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in the context of COVID-19 (October 2020): UCRNN partnered with the East African Child Rights Network (EACRN) to convene a meeting with network members working around ending the sexual exploitation of children in Uganda (among others UYDEL, SOMERO, TDH, Platform for Labour Action, RAHAB Uganda) to discuss how children can be safeguarded during the period of COVID 19 as most of them were at home due to closure of schools.
  • Situational analysis meeting on alternative care in Uganda (September 2020): UCRNN with support from SOS and Child Fund organized a meeting with organizations working around Alternative Care in Uganda to identify the existing gaps and develop plans to address the high-priority needs for alternative care in the country. The meeting also aimed to strengthen the capacities of government partners to accomplish leadership in implementing a structured assessment of the national alternative care system for children and strategies using a standardized framework and tool.
  • Conference Meeting with the East African Legislative Assembly MPS on the EAC Anti-Trafficking Bill (August 2020): UCRNN in partnership with East African Centre for Human Rights convened a meeting with the Members of Parliament of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) to discuss the EAC anti-trafficking Bill, and what steps needed to be taken to fast-track its passing into law.
