A quarter-century of collective results
For more than a quarter of a century, UCRNN’s collective action has produced lasting results, from establishing a national child-protection helpline to shaping the laws that protect Ugandan children today. The milestones below reflect what the Network and its members have achieved together.

2005
Pioneered Uganda’s first toll-free Child Helpline with member organizations and government support.
2006
Established a CSO-led child-abuse reporting and response mechanism.
2013
Secured the national short code 116 through public-private advocacy.
2016
Influenced the Children’s (Amendment) Act 2016 and anti-trafficking regulations.
Ongoing
Sustained reporting to the UN, African Committee and UN Human Rights Council.
