A one-stop centre for child-rights information

The UCRNN Secretariat is a one-stop center for child-rights information in Uganda, home to our publications, research, training resources, annual reports, and media galleries. The Resource Centre exists to put credible, accessible knowledge in the hands of members, partners, policymakers, researchers, and the public.

Publications & Research Papers

UCRNN generates and curates evidence to inform planning, programming, and advocacy on child rights. Our growing library of publications includes policy briefs, complementary and alternative reports, situational analyses, and thematic studies. Featured publications include:

RAJA / Child Justice Briefs

Two policy briefs (2022) were produced under the RAJA / Child Justice Project, one examining the marrying off of young boys in Kyotera and another on the rights of children with disabilities.

UNCRC Complementary Report

The NGO Complementary Report to the Government of Uganda’s Second and Third Periodic Report under the UNCRC.

A publication centring the perspectives and experiences of children themselves.

Training Programmes

UCRNN strengthens the capacity of staff, member organizations, partners, and communities to safeguard and protect children. Recent training programmes include:

Safeguarding training was delivered to the entire Secretariat staff and a number of partner organizations, equipping participants with the knowledge to recognize, prevent, and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns as they arise.

A HAKI4ALL Training of Trainers (ToT) programme delivered to teachers and children in selected schools, using the HAKI4ALL book published by the Garcia Michel Trust. The training equips children with an understanding of their rights and responsibilities, what constitutes a child-rights violation, who is responsible for protecting children’s rights, and where to report when those rights are violated.
